Fame usually comes with some negatives in addition to its positives and that is even more the case for child stars! For instance, Finn Wolfhard, apparently experienced something really scary when he was only 13 and shooting IT!
As it turns out, Pennywise the clown was nothing compared to the grown-up adult fans that would stalk him!
The teen actor who is now 17 years old, revealed that some adult fans of the IT movie would go so far with showing him ‘love’ that they would end up following Finn, who was just a child, home.
It was obviously all a very toxic situation and now, the talented actor is opening up about it during a new interview with Mastermind magazine
He recalled that ‘When I was 13, adults followed me to my condo when I was shooting It. Stranger Things had also just come out, and I was all by myself. As I walked faster, they also walked faster, and I was getting a little antsy by the time I got to my door. Suddenly, they were like, ‘Hey, can we get a selfie?’ And I was like, ‘No you cannot have a selfie! How about you do not follow children?’’
This is not the first time Finn talks about how intense the fans of Stranger Things can sometimes get.
He’s actually spoken up about it in the past, asking people not to harass the minors part of the cast!
‘Hey everybody! I don’t want to ex-communicate anybody from this fandom, but if you’re for real you will not harass my friends, or co-workers. Ya’ll know who you are,’ he tweeted at 14.
About the posts at the time, he now admits ‘Why I even have to tweet that, I do not know. Anyone who calls themselves ‘fan’ and actively goes after somebody for literally acting and doing their job’s ridiculous. Think b4 ya type boiiii.’
