In an interview, today on Megyn Kelly Today, the filmmaker, Jennifer Jarosik, talked openly about her allegations of rape against the entertainment mogul, Russell Simmons. Perhaps, the most memorable moment was when the woman said, “he started to kiss me, and then he raped me.”
According to Jarosik, Russell raped her once in 2011 and once again in 2016. Jarosik said “Russell was a friend,” of hers, and a mentor, someone whom she looked up to and had tremendous respect for.
Jennifer claimed that Russell invited her to a private room because he wanted to speak to her, and it was there where he “aggressively” came on to her and proceeded to rape her.
Jennifer said she “tried to force him off,” but everything happened so quickly. During her story, she became visibly perturbed and emotional.

Despite the harrowing encounter, they continued to work together, which made her “feel weak in some ways,” as if she depended on him. He was able to help her with the film, so she kind of blamed herself.
She added, “I feel that I wanted to give him another chance.” Additionally, in 2016, she claims Russell “forced himself” on top of her during a meeting at her house in LA.
As a result of the repeated altercations, she has filed a $5 million lawsuit against Russell claiming that he knocked her on the head as well as sexually assaulted her.
In a statement to NBC News, Simmons said the charges are “absolutely untrue.” Simmons basically said he looks forward to the day where he can defend himself in court, a place where testimonies and evidence matter rather than in the court of public opinion.
