Fergie's Failed National Anthem Remix Gets Some Backing From Her Ex-Husband Josh Duhamel
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Josh Duhamel decided to defend Fergie who is still being ridiculed for her experimental performance of the National Anthem at the NBA All-Star game.
Duhamel stated: “I think she will probably admit that it was not her best work, but the girl is super talented. She is an amazing woman — an amazing human being. It is hard to see somebody you care about to get beat up like that. That is the business, you know? You are in this business. You put yourself out there. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose.”
Every basketball fan eagerly anticipated the event, and the audience witnessed an epic battle between Team Lebron and Team Stephen.
Some of the biggest names in the game were present to entertain the cheering crowd.
All was going great until the time came to honor the United States with the rendition of the National Anthem before the beginning game.
Usually, this is a great honor and a dream come true for every musician out there, but apparently, the former vocalist from The Black Eyed Peas was anything but honored after her performance which was deemed one of the worst ever in history.
When the 42-year-old started singing, the overall excitement in the stadium turned into pure amazement and confusion for she sounded off and rattled.
Apparently, Fergie was trying to mimic Marilyn Monroe’s “Happy Birthday” in her singing style.
Some people in the crowd started giggling silently even before Fergie was done with the anthem while others burst into uncontrollable laughter.
A lot of the celebrities present at the event including Beyonce also could not keep their faces straight and were at least smiling during the terrible rendition.
Jimmy Kimmel was not even trying to hide his big smile, while Khloe Kardashian shared a message on Twitter, saying she was confused by the performance.
This is not the first time Fergie has failed to deliver a quality appearance on stage while singing the National Anthem.
In the past, she has been mocked for lip-synching instead of singing live.
However, this time, the backlash reached another level. At least, she has the backing of her family.
