Tiffany Haddish’s book, The Last Black Unicorn, is a fan favorite among critics and audiences alike. However, not everyone is pleased with the book and its representations. Admittedly, the actress stated some of the details might have been exaggerated for dramatic effect.
But, her ex-husband – who received brutal treatment in the book – is speaking out against his portrayal in The Last Black Unicorn. You can see the posts on Instagram as collected by The Shade Room below:
#PressPlay: #TiffanyHaddish's memoir #TheLastBlackUnicorn was released last week but there seems to be some discrepancies over what’s true and what was fabricated in the book. Tiffany recently went live and admitted some things may have gotten tweaked during the editing process. This came after multiple sources reported some of the shocking details shared in the book, including an alleged abusive relationship with her ex-husband who she divorced and married twice. __________________________________________ "He grabbed me by the collar, he was like, 'It's time to go to the room now,' in front of everybody," she wrote. "Just snatched me by my shirt, and pulled me to the elevator and threw me in it…once we got to our hotel room, he was so quick. He snatched me by the neck and slammed me into the wall." __________________________________________ She said things got so bad between them that at one point it led to an arrest and miscarriage. Now, Tiffany’s ex-husband is speaking out against the allegations, saying he loves Tiff until his last breath and he never put his hands on her. #Roomies, take a look and tell us your thoughts.
While speaking with her followers, Haddish said some of the stories in the book were changed without her permission to make them more exciting and intriguing to read. She hoped to reconcile that fact with an audiobook version where she will tell the stories in her own words.
Tiffany said when she read the finished copy, some of the material was a little bit ostentatious and hyperbolic and so the audiobook will fact-check the memoir.
The ex-husband of the actress took to Instagram recently to explain, while he doesn’t blame Tiffany for his portrayal in the memoir, he has to come out and say that he has never hit a woman in his entire life.
Furthermore, Will stated that he acknowledges it may have been the editors who changed final details.
Either way, it’s been an excellent year for Haddish who critics have described as a “break-out star,” because of her role in the film, Girls Trip, alongside Jada Pinkett-Smith.
Jada recently came out to state that Haddish should’ve received a nomination at the Golden Globes. However, Tiffany claimed she didn’t even care about the alleged “snub,” because she’s not “nasty like that.”
