Yet another celebrity is coming out to bash Kanye West’s recent comments on slavery. Just one day after Kanye West talked about the slave mindset, which was misinterpreted as being about literal slavery, the former singer/actress, Eve, used her platform on The Talk to criticize Kanye.
Eve claimed that nearly every time she watches the video clips, she can’t help but feel “emotional,” because of Ye’s supposed “disrespectfulness.”
Eve said that she doesn’t understand how Kanye – who, according to her, was born on the South Side of Chicago and had a university professor as a mother – would say such hurtful and insensitive things about the history of African-Americans.
Eve went on to say that Kanye’s attempt to be a “free-thinker” is misplaced and flat-out wrong because one has to acknowledge the history of slavery in the United States.
As for how she intends to get back at him, Eve said she won’t be listening to his music anymore. The talk show host said she is “done with Kanye,” and recommended the younger generation to listen to Nas, Damian Marley, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar.
As it was previously reported, Kanye made his statements on Tuesday during a live interview with TMZ. After being questioned on his controversial support of the president, he got up out of his chair and made all sorts of declarations.
And while a lot of people are confused about what West is doing, an insider shared with us recently that it’s all a calculated move to get attention to himself and his new record.
The insider shared, “While Kanye does believe everything he’s saying, it’s done in a bombastic and bold way because it’s for self-promotion too. I mean, he’s got a new record coming out.”
