According to Evangeline Lilly, a “misogynistic” stunt coordinator is the one responsible for her injury on the set of “Lost” all those years ago. During a panel discussion, the star said her injury was bad; “there were open wounds” with some of them “pussing and oozing.”
Following the incident, Lilly went home and her mother told her she would never be able to “wear an evening gown again.”
As for what caused the injury, she was supposed to roll off a tree branch and then hang on as if she was about to fall but would be held in place with a harness so as to avoid a dangerous situation.
According to Evangeline, the stuntman wanted another guy to do it, and the actress wasn’t willing to let him tell her what she could do, so she did it instead. The stunt-man proposed not wrapping her arms with moleskin because he worried it would show on film.
Through Deadline, Evangeline claims the stunt coordinator asked her to repeat doing it over and over again in some sort of display of power. Because of the repetition of the act, she ended up having to apply a liquid bandage to her arm.
Lilly said to the news organization that it was a form of “putting her in her place” for standing up to him. The actress said, looking back on it now, she would’ve done things differently.
In fact, she probably wouldn’t have even bothered because it was silly. Evangeline refused to reveal the identity of the coordinator, but referred to him as “misogynistic.”
As you may know, this is just another case of the supposed “systemic abuse of power” in Hollywood. The wave of accusations all began with the Harvey Weinstein case near the end of 2017.
