In a brand new interview, Elton John talked about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement. The man revealed that when he and the royal met up last summer, he was totally open about his romance with the American ‘Suits’ actress.
‘I could tell he was totally in love,’ Elton stated.
As those who like to keep up with the royal family’s lives undoubtedly know, the singer was super close to Harry and William’s mother Princess Diana.
‘Both of these boys seem to be ecstatically happy and that is all you want people to be, no matter who they are. When people get married, you want it to last. You want them to be happy. I am happy for him. I hope they’ll have a wonderful day,’ the star added about the brothers and Harry’s wedding in May.
Speaking of the wedding, despite rumors that he is set to sing at the ceremony, it looks like he is not even on the guest list yet.
He would love to attend though!
The Grammy winner went on to reflect on Diana’s legacy.
They were so close that, after she passed away in 1997, the man wrote ‘Candle in the Wind’ in the Princess’ memory.
‘She was loved by people because she had the great ability, which her son Prince Harry has inherited, where she could walk into a room full of people and make them feel at ease, as if she had known them all of her life or all their lives. And that is an incredible talent to have,’ Elton said.
Are you surprised the singer hasn’t been invited to Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle despite how close he was to his mother?
