Naturally, despite her confidence that it was the right thing to do, she still got emotional while telling viewers all about it.
While standing on stage on her show, Ellen told her audience that 'Today, I have an announcement to make. Today, I am announcing that next season is going to be my last. So, the past 18 years, you have to know, has really changed my life. You have all changed my life and I'm forever grateful to all of you for watching, laughing, dancing… sometimes crying. This show's been the greatest experience of my whole life, and I owe it all to you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.'

The host mentioned that back when she signed a deal for 3 more years, she always knew, in her heart, that the 19th season would be her last.
