In a new interview with reporters from the New York Times, the ex-husband of the legendary actress, Jennifer Aniston, dished on their breakup for the very first time. Published on Saturday, the New York Times revealed what’s really been going on in Justin’s mind since their divorce.
When he spoke with The Times, he explained, “it was kind of the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity.” Admittedly, the actor stated, perhaps the most difficult part was dealing with the public’s perception of their breakup, rather than the actual breakup, itself.
As for what caused the rift between them, Justin said, surprisingly, they were just a few moments and occurrences in their relationship which led to the problems.

Jennifer Aniston might not have social media but that doesn't mean she's immune to a good stalking session. "I don't have Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram accounts. I will totally admit that I can dip into Instagram and sort of be a secret voyeur. I'm a creeper," she tells her good friend @mmcnearney. "There are times when I'll look through and think, 'Oh my god, what a time suck!' I've been with people who spend maybe an hour figuring out this one post, and you're like, 'That just took up an hour of your life, and it's gone in 60 seconds.' It feels like we are losing connection. I think we're losing conversation." So will she be joining social media in the future? That would be a no. It wasn’t quite as salacious and sensationalist as the media headlines would have a person believe. As most fans know, Justin and Aniston were one of Hollywood’s most admired couples, beginning their relationship in 2011 before finally tying the knot in 2015.
When they broke up in February, their fans were absolutely shocked by the news. However, they managed to keep the gossip and speculation, as well as the off-the-cuff remarks, under the radar, until Jennifer spoke about their relationship with reporters from InStyle Magazine.
Jen said in the interview that people in the public believe “she can’t keep a man,” and isn’t able to have a baby because of her selfishness.
Similar to Jennifer, Theroux said their breakup didn’t leave him emotionally destroyed as the reports may have suggested. “Neither one of us is dead,” the actor remarked.
And they’re not looking to “throw hatchets at each other” either. When the journalist asked him about his current dating life, he joked if the question was the part where he was supposed to raised his eyebrows coyly and refuse to answer the question.
In March, one month after they had officially split up, sources said they were barely speaking to one another. However, they’re both happy to be going in their respective directions.
