Dylan O’Brien Reveals His On-Set Stunt Accident Almost Ended His Career: 'Didn't Know If I'd Ever Do It Again'
In a recent interview, the actor opened up about his terrifying accident that happened while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure back in March of 2016. Dylan O’Brien revealed that he thought his career was over at that time.
As fans of the Teen Wolf star may remember, O’Brien fell from a moving car and was hit by another during a stunt gone wrong for the movie.
He was rushed to the hospital immediately after, most of his serious injuries affecting his face.
Despite the fact that since then, O’Brien has recovered and ever did more stunt work, he revealed that for him it, the recovery process felt a lot more than in reality.
‘I can still remember that six months as if it was five years of my life. The state that you are in after something like that, you just want to run from all that stuff. I did not really want to leave my couch necessarily when I was allowed to, so yeah, it was a big step doing this,’ he said about accepting the part in American Assassin.
In the end, the film helped him get back into it even though he was scared at first.
Dyan O’Brien is a strong person and a great actor, and that just shows on screen.
Going through something like this and still doing stunts afterward is really brave but we hope he’ll take care of himself and stay safe in the future.
