Dwyane Wade Defends Wife Gabrielle Union After America’s Got Talent Firing
Dwyane Wade is defending his wife, Gabrielle Union after she was fired from America's Got Talent . The NBA legend fired off several Tweets on Wednesday expressing his thoughts on the controversy surrounding the NBC show.
"Men lie, Women lie, numbers don't.' Over this past year I've been approached by many people saying that my wife @itsgabrielleu is the main reason they've started watching #AGT or that they love her insight and sincerity on the show," he said in his first tweet.
Union and Wade got married in 2014. They welcomed their daughter, Kaavia last year via a surrogate. The actress revealed in 2017 she had suffered eight or nine miscarriages and got candid about her fertility struggles.
Wade continued to express his support of Union in a second tweet, which also revealed how he felt upon learning Union got the ax.
"So, when i got the news that my wife was being fired—my first question was obviously why!? I am still waiting on a good answer to that question. But if anyone knows @itsgabrielleu or have heard of her you know she's an advocate for our community and culture," the 37-year old shared.
News broke on Friday that Union and Julianne Hough would not be returning for the next season of AGT . Both ladies joined the panel of judges this year.
"As proud as i were of her being selected as a judge on #AGT— I am even more proud of her standing up for what she stands for and that's US. So cheers to you @itsgabrielleu on not losing sight of the lessons we've talked about teaching our daughter and for kicking ass while you were on that platform. Number 1 judge on one of the biggest shows in the world," he concluded his tweets of support.
On Tuesday, Variety reported Union had expressed concern over racially insensitive situations during her time as a judge. There was an incident involving a joke Jay Leno made that never landed on air. It was particularly concerning to the actress. Variety also shared Union and Hough continuously received notes on their physical appearance.
Representatives for Hough, Union, Leno, and Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment, which produces AGT have not responded to the recent allegations.
Dwyane Wade is showing his support for his wife, Gabrielle Union as the drama surrounding her sudden firing from AGT unfolds. It is just one more reason they are couple goals, the duo always has each other's backs.
