Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson took to social media to share with his many followers the great news that none other than fellow actor Idris Elba is joining the upcoming Fast and Furious spin-off titled Hobbs and Shaw. Not only that but he also revealed a very important detail about the role Elba is taking on – the villain!

‘He’s a baaaaaad man. Welcoming my dude @idriselba with tattooed and open arms to our #HobbsAndShaw Fast and Furious spin-off movie. Every hero's only as good as their villain. Cue the music... let’s dance,’ Dwayne wrote on Twitter.

‘I promised we were going to make this Fast and Furious spin off awesome and grow our franchise properly. He’s a bad man (legit bad ass). I better toughen up ?? #HobbsAndShaw,’ the actor added.

Many news outlets were quick to share the great announcement and soon fans became aware, and we’re sure they’re excited.

The spin-off is set to be directed by Deadpool 2’s David Leitch so we know it’s going to be great.

As for other announced cast members, Jason Statham is also part of the bunch, although we don’t know much about the sort of character he is portraying.

On the other hand, the upcoming film has not managed to stay away from drama even though it’s exciting to have a spin-off for the beloved movie series.

Back in October, Tyrese Gibson criticized  The Rock, blaming him for allegedly delaying the release of Fast and Furious 9 and instead, pushing up and premiere date of Hobbs and Shaw.

‘You still promoting a movie that no one wants to see made you clown,’ Gibson tweeted.

‘He's on twitter and won't hit my cell  The Rock this is the people's champ? #ShawHobbsEpicFailure you came here just to break up the fast family,’ he went on during his rant. Yikes!
