In case you missed it, Drake Bell was put on blast by his ex-girlfriend this week, Melissa Lingafelt, who claims he had a “thing” for underaged girls. Moreover, she says Drake abused her verbally and physically throughout their relationship.
Drake, most famous for his role on Drake and Josh from Nickelodeon, found himself at the center of controversy on the 12th of August after his ex-girlfriend accused him of abuse on her TikTok account. She says he is a predator who likes underage girls.
According to the 30-year-old actress, she says she first started dating Drake Bell when she was 16-years-old and he was 20-years-old. She says she moved in with him and after about one year, he began verbally abusing her and it was the “worst type of verbal abuse” a person could imagine.
Melissa went on to say that she has photographic evidence of what Drake had done to her, before adding that she didn’t want to get into the “underage girls thing.” In his response, Drake claimed their romance had ended more than ten years ago.
He said they called each other “terrible names” as couples often do. Not long after they split up, Drake says she asked him for money when she was going through a rough time, and he gave it to her.
He went on to say that he didn’t know if it was some kind of “misguided quest for money or attention,” however, he’s determined to look at the legal options to defend himself.
Fans of Bell know he has been in trouble with the law before, although, usually not related to sexual misconduct and abuse. For instance, on the 21st of December, 2015, the police arrested him for driving under the influence in California in the early hours of the morning.
The police reported that they had seen him driving over the speed limit and swerving on the road. Bell was released on a $20,000 bond and pled not guilty to the charges. He was also charged for the same crime in 2010 for an incident in the year prior while in San Diego.
