It was a high-tension day at the Santa Monica, California courthouse on Monday, December 3, 2018, as lawyers for Donald Trump and Stormy Daniels squared off over money. Michael Avenatti and President Donald Trump’s attorney Brent Blakely (who represents Michael Cohen) got into it when they were face to face, according to the New York Post.
The attorneys were in court as President Donald Trump is seeking $340,000 in legal fees for the defamation suit Avenatti brought forth on his client’s behalf.
According to the Post, Avenatti said Blakely represented a felon (Michael Cohen) and Blakely retorted that Avenatti was the felon.
In court, Avenatti argued that the fee of $340,000 was highly inflated and he tried to give the court an assessment of what the President’s legal fees should be.
Avenatti gave an estimate of no more than $25,000.
President Trump’s attorneys stated their legal team invested 500 hours at varying rates that included up to $840 per hour.

Though Stormy Daniels has had public disagreements with Avenatti, the two stated they have mended their differences and are ready to take President Trump’s fight for legal fees head-on.
Stormy Daniels and Michael Avenatti both used Twitter to make a statement that they had repaired the rift and were ready to take their fights for victory on both coasts.
Stormy Daniels and Michael Avenatti both used the hashtag #TeamStormy during their tweets showing solidarity.
Michael Avenatti has had a busy time with various legal matters as he is representing Stormy in an NDA case and has recently been arrested for domestic violence. It is unclear whether official charges will be filed in the DV incident, but he seems to be assured Stormy will be victorious in the NDA case.
Michael Avenatti released a statement via Twitter.
“Be clear: Any attys fees that may be awarded in the defamation case (that is going to be reversed on appeal) are but a small fraction of what Trump & Cohen will owe Stormy in the main NDA case. We have already forced them to admit they lied to the court and the judge repeatedly.”Advertisement
