Donald Trump Says Future BLM Mural Set To Be Painted In Front Of His Hotel Is A 'Symbol Of Hate!'
As you might have heard, the New York City Mayor, Bill de Blasio is planning on painting a Black Lives Matter mural on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue in honor of those who lost their lives because of police brutality. However, instead of praising the initiative, Donald Trump expressed a baffling view on it, arguing that it would be nothing but a ‘symbol of hate.’ What?!
The current POTUS also mentioned that such a tribute would ‘antagonize’ the police!
Furthermore, the tribute mural is set to be pained on the Fifth Avenue, more precisely, right in front of Trump’s hotel!
Obviously not happy about the whole thing, Trump took to his go-to platform to tweet: ‘NYC is cutting Police money by ONE BILLION DOLLARS, and yet the @NYCMayor is planning to paint a big and expensive, yellow Black Lives Matter sign on the Fifth Avenue, denigrating this whole luxury Avenue. This will only further antagonize New York’s Finest, who LOVE New York and remember the horrible BLM chant, ‘Pigs In A Blanket, Fry ‘Em Like Bacon.’’
‘Maybe our GREAT Police, who have been neutralized and scorned by a mayor who hates and disrespects them, will not let this symbol of hate be affixed to New York’s greatest street. Spend the money fighting crime instead!’ he went on to argue in his rant.
This comes after Mayor de Blasio shared via MSNBC that a billion dollars would be cut from the NYPD budget.
This also means reducing police overtime as well as the very size of the department in the light of the many killings of black people by officers.
He also mentioned that some of the functions done by the police now, ‘will be replaced by civilians handling those functions who can do them better. And we’re going to take that money and put it into youth initiatives.’
