On Wednesday, President Donald Trump held a meeting at the White House with several lawmakers to talk about gun control.
At the roundtable, Trump bashed the officers in Florida who apparently failed to stop Nikolas Cruz from killing 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
The Republican, who previously stated he would have rushed to the school to save the students, said law enforcers should have taken the “shooter’s guns away whether they had the right or not.”
Trump stated: “Mike, take the firearms first and then go to court because that is another system. A lot of times, by the time you get to court, it takes so long to go to court, to get the due process procedures. I like taking the guns early.”
He added: “The police saw that he was a big problem, they did not take any guns away. Now that could have been policing, but they should have taken them away anyway, whether they had the right or not.”
This is not the first time that the former reality TV star has cast critics in a very bad light.
In February, President Trump concluded that representatives from the Democratic Party who did not exhibit any admiration during his State of the Union address were traitors and no true Americans.
The controversial business mogul made an appearance in Blue Ash, Ohio. During the event, which was about tax reforms, Trump used the opportunity to express his utter disappointment from the Democrats.
He regarded their behavior and lack of open applause for him as a very selfish act, and the bad energy could be felt in the air.
On January 30, Trump gave his first State of the Union as a president. During his speech, the huge difference in the amount of support he received from the different parties was pretty noticeable.
The Republicans tried to cheer for the president as much as possible, while the Democrats with their leader Nancy Pelosi who dressed in black to support the MeToo movement were much more modest with their ovations.
Trump recalled another part of his State of the Union speech when he mentioned the record-low level of unemployment among African-American citizens.
Apparently, the fact that this statement of his was greeted without any reaction or even a smile from the Democrats has deeply saddened his feelings.
POTUS also commented mockingly on a statement regarding the GOP tax cuts made by Pelosi earlier.
So far, no reaction has come from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee or Pelosi.
