During a White House forum recently, president Donald Trump told a crowd of young people what he would do if he had to live life over again. As you may know, Trump took the world by storm when he won the 2016 presidential election against Hillary Clinton through the electoral college, precisely because of his victory in swing states such as Michigan and Florida.
However, in the past, Trump had voiced his sentiments of regret following his win almost two years ago. The president admitted that it was a lot harder than he initially thought.
Again, the president spoke to young people and repeated those sentiments. He told the crowd that if he were to talk to his 25-year-old self, he would say to himself, “don’t run for president.”
Reportedly, his response made the entire audience laugh and clap including his senior adviser, Ivanka Trump. Ivanka has come under fierce criticism as well, specifically for her “complicity” to Donald’s behavior.
Donald described his past as consisting of the”greatest publicity,” but when he campaigned in 2016, it became much worse in almost every way.
Some may not know this, but Donald first expressed interest in running for president when he was 41-year-old back in 1987. Coincidentally, Donald joked that he would run as a Republican because they had the “dumbest voters.”
As it was noted at the beginning of the article, Trump has spoken of his regrets before. Back in April, the president said he “loved his previous life,” and had so many things going on which he enjoyed. However, his life as the president is infinitely more stressful.
Donald said to Reuters that it’s a lot more work than before and he thought it “would be easier.” Trump, perhaps, is the most contentious American president in the last century.
