Twilight fans around the world celebrated when Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart started dating for real in 2011. That same excitement turned to despair two years later when the couple parted ways. Twilight fans have longed for Edward and Bella to reunite ever since, but a new theory argues that their relationship was a scam from the very beginning.
Pattinson and Stewart met while working on the first Twilight movie way back in 2008. Dating rumors kicked into high gear when they were spotted getting extra cozy with each other at a Kings of Leon concert in 2009. Stewart went public with the romance in the fall of 2011, and the announcement was a dream come true for many fans.

Everything seemed perfectly fine for the young couple over the next two years, but they hit a major roadblock when Stewart was caught cheating with Rupert Sanders, who worked with her on Snow White and the Huntsman.
Stewart released a heartfelt apology after the cheating scandal broke and confessed that she truly loved Pattinson. The pair tried to work things out and remained together in the months following the scandal.
But by the spring of 2013, Pattinson had enough and was seen moving his things out of Stewart’s home. While most fans believed that Pattinson and Stewart’s love was genuine, some started to question its validity.
According to Cosmopolitan, Stewart’s own comments were seen as evidence that the romance was a big sham. In an interview with T Magazine, Stewart confessed that fans wanted her and Pattinson together so bad that the romance “was made into a product.”
With the spotlight shining bright, Stewart confessed that “it wasn’t real life anymore,” alluding to the idea that the relationship had become just another Twilight product.
Stewart has since debunked the idea that her romance with Pattinson was fake. The actress revealed that she has “been deeply in love with everyone” she has dated, including Robert Pattinson.
We may never know if that feeling was mutual, but at least fans can rest assured knowing Kristen Stewart thought the romance was real.
