The great due date debate continues when it comes to Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth’s first child, and a new photo of her rapidly growing baby bump has, as always, created another online firestorm. Shotgun wedding rumors have followed the couple since before they tied the knot, and unless she has the baby at the end of February or later, it is likely that they will never die.
There are multiple theories as to when Duggar’s baby is due. Based on an online registry, the Counting On star is due on February 22, while some say the family has put her due date in late February or early March. But, others insist the family has never made an official announcement.
There are even those who believe that Duggar has already given birth, but her latest photo should put those rumors to rest. In the Instagram pic, Duggar smiles next to two of her brothers, while cradling her giant belly.
Other fans believe that she is due in about two weeks, thanks to an email written by her father-in-law, Terry Forsyth. He owns Fort Rock Family Camp, which is a recreated Old West town that has a camp with Christian worship and features guest speakers who talk about their faith.
He recently stirred up some controversy by inviting Mike and Debbie Pearl – authors of the parenting book To Train Up A Child, which encourages corporal punishment – and several concerned people wrote letters, only to receive an email response defending spanking and the family’s decision to let the couple speak.
In one email response, Terry seemingly lets the receiver in on his daughter-in-law’s due date. In the email dated February 1st, he said that Duggar was due in two weeks. Of course, that puts her baby due around February 14th, which could mean the couple got pregnant a couple of weeks before their wedding.
But, due dates are variable and not always completely accurate, so it is very possible that Duggar got pregnant on her wedding night and is due exactly nine months after getting married.
The simple fact that Duggar is still pregnant in the month of February should put the shotgun wedding rumors to rest since we are now 35 weeks past her wedding day, it is almost a sure thing that the couple didn’t move their big day because of an unplanned pregnancy.
A typical pregnancy lasts 40 weeks, but that is calculated from the date of the woman’s last period. So, when Duggar has her baby past the middle of the month, it means she got pregnant on her wedding night or honeymoon, just like the family has claimed.
The Forsyth’s have never made any comment about all the shotgun wedding and pre-marital sex rumors, so only time will tell if their baby’s birthday will finally shed light on the debate.
Of course, this is only a story since the Duggar family prides themselves on their conservative religious values and physical restraint during courtships.
Fans nitpicking the days and weeks of a wedding and pregnancy due date could only happen in Duggar world. But, the different world that they live in is one of the reasons their shows have always been so popular.
The new season of Counting On premieres Monday, February 26th on TLC, where fans will surely get answers to the due date debate when Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth finally welcome their new baby.
