If Luke Bryan had his way, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani would have already tied the knot – and he would have officiated the wedding. During the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards last weekend, Bryan admitted that he would love to watch Shelton and Stefani tie the knot. Did Bryan’s comments confirm that a wedding is in the works?
According to People, Bryan commented on Shelton’s romance while attending the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, where the No Doubt alum is scheduled to start a residency in a few months.
Shelton and Stefani have not announced an engagement, but Bryan sounded confident that it would happen soon. He also took the opportunity to poke fun at Shelton and explained why he shouldn’t wait any longer to exchange vows.
“If Blake were smart, he would marry her before she goes to an optometrist,” Bryan shared. “Every time I meet Gwen, she’s holding her phone way out here to read. I’m like, ‘That’s it, she can’t see!’”
Stefani’s eyes, of course, are just fine. In fact, Shelton was named the Sexiest Man Alive last year and has a lot going for him besides his looks.
In a recent interview, Stefani opened up about why she fell in love with Shelton and revealed that he’s got a big heart, which makes him one of the most attractive men alive, at least in Stefani’s eyes.
Shelton and Stefani have been dating for a number of years now and fans have speculated about them getting married for quite some time now. The couple has not teased any wedding plans, but it sounds like they are getting closer to taking their romance to the next level.
In the meantime, Shelton and Stefani arrived together for the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards, though they did not walk the red carpet. Instead, the two decided to keep things low-key for the event, at least until Shelton took the stage.
When the country crooner performed his song, “I Lived It,” the cameras panned to Stefani, who couldn’t help but sing along to every word of her boyfriend’s latest hit. She even jumped up and gave Shelton a standing ovation once he was done singing.
Gwen Stefani is currently prepping for the start of her residency in Las Vegas, which is scheduled to kick off in June. She and Blake Shelton have not addressed the rumors surrounding their engagement.
