It was a big night for actors Dick Van Dyke, 93, and Henry Winkler, 73, as the two stars attended the 2019 Golden Globes accompanied by their wives. Dick Van Dyke is at the awards due to his starring in the 1964 Mary Poppins and the 2018 follow up Mary Poppins Returns as Navckid Keyd. Henry Winkler was nominated for best performance by an actor in a supporting role in a series, limited series or motion picture made for television for his role as Gene Cousineau in HBO's Barry .
Both men were previous Golden Globe nominees. Dick Van Dyke was nominated twice for The Dick Van Dyke Show and once for the New Dick Van Dyke Show. Henry Winkler was nominated five times and won twice. His nominations include Nightshift , Heroes , and Barry . He won twice for his role as "The Fonz" on television's Happy Days .
It was Winkler's Happy Days co-stars that sent him well-wishes and messages of support that caused people on social media to revisit the Fonz and pay tribute to the actor through photos and videos. Though Henry Winkler didn't win the award, he certainly won praise from social media.
