It is safe to say that Derick Dillard is against child abuse. The former Counting On star recently bashed child abusers on social media, assuring fans all over the world that he is absolutely against abusing kids. While Dillard made his stance clear, the Duggar family faces a new round of criticisms for how they treat their kids.
Dillard addressed the issue of child abuse after a fan asked him about a comment Jazz Jennings recently made about him. Jennings – who once feuded with Dillard about gender identity – told fans on social media that Dillard is “irrelevant” now that he’s off Counting On.
I just speak out against child abuse, and especially those who promote it, because it’s the right thing to do. It’s just absolutely awful and should not be celebrated.

In response, Dillard avoided mentioning Jennings at all and instead talked about how child abuse is a terrible thing.
“It’s just absolutely awful and should not be celebrated,” Dillard told his Twitter followers.
Dillard’s comment is interesting given the Duggar family’s history with child abuse. Josh Duggar, Dillard’s brother-in-law, was accused of molesting his own family members when he was younger.
This includes Dillard’s spouse, Jill Duggar, and her sister Jessa Duggar. The girls were minors when Josh molested them.
Josh’s scandal led to the cancellation of 19 Kids And Counting and numerous criticisms about how the Duggars raise their children. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have always forced their kids to follow strict rules, especially when it comes to their dating lives. These rules have led some fans to speculate that Jim Bob and Michelle are abusing their children whenever the cameras are not around.

So far, there has not been any concrete evidence of abuse as Jim Bob and Michelle keep a fairly tight lid on what happens in their house. But fans are still left wondering about what really goes on behind closed doors.
The Duggars have not commented on Dillard’s latest social media rant and how it connects with Josh’s molestation scandal.
