The old showrunner of The Larry Sanders Show is totally confused as to how everyone is surprised by Roseanne Barr’s behavior. During a chat with TMZ reporters, Larry said Roseanne is a “pig and a slob,” and so the public should expect her to act in such a way. In the middle of his rant, the reporter for TMZ could barely believe what he was saying as his comments were so uninhibited.
When journalists spoke with him on Friday night after leaving WeHo, Dennis explained that Roseanne’s character on the show is emblematic of how she really is in real life.
And, according to the former showrunner, it was common knowledge, including to those executives at ABC who hired her, that she would act in such a manner.
It was art imitating life, and life imitating art. You can check out the video from TMZ below:
And while it’s a shame her successful show is off the air, Klein admitted there is no way they would let such a show go quite so quickly. They have to have more productions coming down the pipes because that’s how the business works.
As you may or may not know, ABC has been working on yet another reboot of Roseanne, except this time, it will revolve around Sara Gilbert’s character, Darlene.
In case you haven’t been paying attention to the news in the last week, Roseanne Barr tweeted out during the weekend that a former aide working under Barack Obama was a mixture of “Planet Of The Apes” and the “Muslim Brotherhood.”
Her career was effectively ruined, and her show was subsequently canceled without a moment’s notice. It was over that quickly.
And how did the comedienne defend herself? Many fans on social media criticized Barr for blaming her outburst on the pharmaceutical drug, Ambien.
Even the Ambien-makers themselves released a statement saying that “racism” was not a side effect of taking their drugs. However, many other social media commenters have explained that Ambien does sometimes cause things like blackouts and memory loss.
