David Afefeso has been working really hard to support kids and college students. He’s been posting all kinds of valuable advice on his social media account.
Tamar Braxton‘s BF has also been offering financial advice to his fans, and people really appreciated this.
‘At a cocktail party in the summer of 2017, a chance encounter changed the course of my career: A stranger and his daughter introduced themselves to me. She had graduated from college three years earlier, with $120,000 in student loans. Her current salary was $52,000. She had big dreams: to start her own business, buy a home, start a family – dreams that now seemed all but impossible with her student loans in tow,’ David began his post.
He told his fans that her story got to him and asked, ‘How can it be that a smart, young woman like her could be robbed of her dreams because she got an *education*? At the time, I was a multi-millionaire running my own finance company. Years earlier, I had arrived in the US with nothing but $250. Education had been my key to the American Dream.’

💵 Here’s some financial advice I wish my 20-year-old self had gotten: 1️⃣ Take bigger risks and start that business when you're young 2️⃣ Build the habit of saving… even if it’s only 10% of your income 3️⃣ Invest in yourself (Disclaimer: student debt is NOT the only way to do this) 4️⃣ Replace all passivity with activity 5️⃣ Be financially flexible by keeping your core expenses low 6️⃣ Triple down on what you’re good at and forget about balance in pursuance of dreams 7️⃣ Take responsibility for everything in your life By the time I was 32 I was a self-made millionaire. I also had the absolute privilege to study at Harvard and spend a decade learning about money… I wish every teen learned these lessons in school. 🧐 What would you tell your 20-year-old self today? 👇 #financialfreedom #finance #strategy #leadership
David continued and said: ‘I had little advice for the young woman at the cocktail party. Because my REAL answer would be that nobody should be in her position like in the first place. The system is broken. I’ve since been on a mission to completely eliminate the need for student loans through my company Sootchy Inc. 44 million Americans are stuck with student loans. That debt is preventing our children from starting their own businesses, families, or buying homes. It’s robbing them of their American Dream. And it’s time for this to change.’
People were really grateful to David for sharing his story and for his overall support.
Someone said: ‘Very true!!! Love this! Keep financial awareness post like this coming!!!’
Another grateful follower posted this: ‘Yes, it’s so sad the debt people are put in for and education. Make sure you share what you are going to do to help. Great message.’
Other than this, people are really happy to know that David is still together with Tamar.
