Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub announced that she is leaving the Bravo reality show during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Of course, Cohen knew in advance what Staub was going to tell the audience, but her choice of words surprised him.
“I have, over the past 12 years and 10 seasons, been a part of this whole franchise and I’ve been very happy to rally and stand on the platform and be here with all of you, but it is time for me to leave and do something that I want to do that makes my heart happy every day,” Staub told Cohen as he listened and smiled, obviously knowing it was coming.

However, he had no idea what she was going to say next. Staub added that she will “never be returning as a Housewife,” and Cohen stopped her right then and there. “Never?” asked Cohen, adding that he had no idea she was going to use that word.
After Cohen’s interruption, Staub continued her statement by saying that she will never return as a Housewife again…with the Jersey girls. That’s when it hit Cohen that Staub has no desire to return to RHONJ, but she might be on board with another show in the franchise, like Real Housewives of New York.
Staub then shared even more news. She revealed that she is going to start her own cooking channel. And because cooking is therapy for her and she finds her “peace in the kitchen,” she is calling the channel “Cooking Therapy.”
She explained that she is always cooking for a lot of people, and she always has pasta ready for friends and family members who stop by her home. She added that she’s going “all in for food,” and her recipes will be gluten and dairy-free
After Staub finished sharing her news, Cohen reiterated that he wasn’t expecting her to use the word “never,” and added that he needed to digest it through the commercial break.
Danielle Staub was one of the OG housewives on RHONJ who kicked off the series back in 2009 with Teresa Guidice, Dina Manzo, Caroline Manzo, and Jacqueline Laurita. She left the cast after two seasons, but returned as a “friend” of the show in Season 8. And, that’s the role she’s had ever since.
New episodes of Real Housewives of New Jersey air Wednesday nights on Bravo.
