Things are looking up for John David Duggar. Days after exchanging vows with Abbie Grace Burnett, the Counting On star appears to have received enough votes for re-election as his town’s constable. The Duggars did not formally announced that John David was running for the position, but he has been elected to the post in the past.
Jill Duggar’s son, Israel, first leaked the exciting election news. John David has not confirmed his re-election, but Israel mentioned that he was running in a video Jill shared on social media.
The clip shows Jill going to polls to vote in the mid-term elections when Israel lets slip that they should vote for John David.
According to In Touch Weekly, John David ran for the constable position in Washington County, AR. The county’s website has John David leading the race with over 57 percent of the votes. A small percentage of the precincts have not been counted, but he is fully expected to win the election.
The election comes days after John David’s wedding to Burnett. Now that he is a married man, John David has his own social media account, per the Duggar family’s strict rules. With an account of his own, it will be interesting to see what he posts over the next few weeks.
We do not know if he will mention winning the election, but fans can rest assured that Burnett will make an appearance fairly frequently.
Apart from Jill, other members of the Duggar family posted about the recent elections.
Joy-Anna Duggar revealed that she voted early, as did Jeremiah and Jedidiah. Anna Duggar, meanwhile, shared a family picture of Josh Duggar and their kiddos on Election Day. Although the family has not said a lot about John David’s win, we are sure they are all excited about the news.
Fans will get to see John David Duggar and Abbie Grace Burnett tie the knot when Counting On returns with new episodes in 2019.
