Counting On star Joy-Anna Duggar revealed last week that she and her husband, Austin Forsyth —plus their newborn son Gideon — are living in an RV, even though they bought and renovated a home when they got married in May 2017. So why are they living in such a cramped space?
Last year, Duggar and Forsyth bought the Fayetteville, Arkansas, home for $70,000, and it appears that the couple made a nice profit when they sold it in June for $140,000. Duggar gave fans a tour of the home earlier this year before she gave birth, and most fans were impressed with the renovations the young couple did on the house of horrors. There was a bit of clutter in the video, however, and fans were quick to point it out.
But now that Duggar is living in a camper, fans are more concerned than ever before. The 20-year-old showed off the space last week with photos that included the RV’s modest kitchen.
“Yes, we are living in a camper!!” Duggar wrote on Instagram. “And I love it!”
Even though the family of three is currently living in a mobile home, an insider says they do have plans to move into a larger home eventually. And, they will stay near the Duggar family in Arkansas.
The latest episode of Counting On featured Duggar’s labor story from when she gave birth to Gideon in February, and things did not go as she expected.
“After about 19 hours of labor, the midwife realized that the baby was breech. When they say a baby is breech, that means its head is turned up, and it’s kind of sitting up in your belly, and it’s supposed to be head down,” said Duggar in the episode.
Duggar and Forsyth had originally planned for a home birth, but after the midwife realized Gideon was breech, they had to go to the hospital. Forsyth admitted that he was discouraged after his wife labored for so long at home and then ended up going to the hospital, but he was ready to have the baby. And, at that point, they were willing to do whatever it took.
Doctors eventually had to deliver Gideon via C-section, and Duggar said that was her greatest fear before going into labor. The reality star admitted that is one thing she didn’t want to do. But, the most important thing was Duggar and her son’s safety, and she was ready for the baby to arrive “any way possible.”
According to People Magazine, when Joy-Anna Duggar gave birth on February 24th, Gideon weighed in at 10 pounds and 3 ounces, and he was 22 inches long. Duggar’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, were at the hospital with her, as well as Austin Forsyth’s parents Terry and Roxanne.
