It looks like Counting On star Josiah Duggar and his fiancée Lauren Swanson have nailed down a potential wedding date, and it isn’t June 30th like we initially thought. According to the couple’s Bed Bath & Beyond gift registry – which is full of modest gifts – they have set a wedding date of New Year’s Eve 2018.
In Touch Weekly is reporting that the news comes just a couple of months after Duggar and Swanson announced their engagement on March 5th with an Instagram post. Josiah’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, wrote that they were excited to announce the engagement, and they have prayed for many years that the Lord would bring the right spouses for their children.
The young couple has not yet officially announced the date of their wedding, and if we have learned anything from the family, the date on the registry could be a way of throwing fans off. Last year, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth had an October date on their wedding registry, but they ended up tying the knot in May.
This led to months of speculation that the couple had a shotgun wedding and had broken the family rules by engaging in premarital sex. But, Joy-Anna ended up giving birth exactly nine months after the wedding, and they ultimately quashed the rumors.
The soon-to-be bride and groom opened up about their engagement in a recent TLC video. Swanson said that Josiah’s proposal left her “speechless,” but it is exciting to be engaged, and she is looking forward to making new memories with her future husband.
The couple was friends for many years before courting and getting engaged, and Josiah said that after being able to spend so much time with Lauren growing up, he came to the point where he realized that she was the one.
Despite not officially announcing a wedding date, the couple definitely wants to remind the world that they are still madly in love. Swanson turned 21 over the weekend, and her fiancé made it clear to fans that he is more in love than ever.
In an Instagram post, Josiah Duggar wrote that there are not enough words to express how much his future bride means to him and how much he loves her. He added that she is the best gift God has ever given him, and he will love and cherish her as long as he lives.
New episodes of Counting On will return to TLC later this summer.
