Counting On star John David Duggar and his fiancée Abbie Grace Burnett got engaged just one month after they announced they were courting. And now that their wedding is just weeks away, the couple can’t stop posting PDA-filled pics on social media.
After they told fans they were getting married, Duggar and Burnett took a two-month hiatus from their joint Instagram account, but they recently returned with some pics that broke some major Duggar courting rules.
In one pic, Duggar and Burnett were in a near full-frontal hug, with his hands around her waist, and her hand on his chest. “Even if I spend the whole day with you, I miss you the second you leave. #mygreatestadventureisyou,” the caption read.
As Duggar fans know, courting and engaged couples must limit their physical contact to side hugs so they can stay pure as they save kissing and sex for marriage.
However, according to In Touch Weekly, fans loved that the couple was breaking the rules, and many wrote messages of support and praise. One fan wrote that they were happy to see front hugs, while another commented how cute Duggar and Burnett looked together.
Unlike his siblings, the 28-year-old Duggar hasn’t been afraid to get a bit handsy with the woman in his life before walking down the aisle. Back in July, they shared a sweet pic of the two of them flying together (Duggar is a pilot). Burnett had her hand on the back of Duggar’s neck, while she looked at him and smiled. They added the caption, “Exploring cloud nine :).”
Duggar is the second-oldest son in the family, and fans are excited that he has finally found the woman he wants to spend his life with. Fans have commented on Duggar and Burnett’s Instagram account that they are happy for the “nice looking couple,” and have wished them a lifetime of happiness and love.
In the Christian dating scene, John David and his twin sister Jana are both considered to be “old” at the age of 28. As fundamentalist Christians, the family doesn’t believe in premarital sex, which often results in the Duggar children marrying young.
John David’s younger sister Joy-Anna was only 19 when she married Austin Forsyth last year. In fact, every one of the Duggar kids who has gotten married did it in their late teens or early twenties. Jana remains the only adult Duggar kid who isn’t engaged or married. However, three of the boys in the family have just reached courting age.
John David Duggar waited patiently for the right woman to come along and reconsidered his “bachelor to the rapture” philosophy when he met Abbie Grace Burnett. The couple will marry on November 3rd.
