Counting On star Josiah Duggar married Lauren Swanson on June 30th at John Brown University Cathedral of the Ozarks in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, but insiders say that the entire day was a nightmare. Both the ceremony and reception were an alleged mess, despite the efforts of the volunteers.
According to Radar Online, everything was a disaster, and the organizer completely messed up. A friend of the famous reality TV family – who once appeared on 19 Kids & Counting – planned the event for free, but everything was in chaos before the bride and groom even arrived.
“The wedding was still being set up the afternoon of,” says an insider.
At the end of the day, the newlyweds rode off in a car covered with balloons and Post-It notes, but nothing went smoothly. TLC did film the event for an upcoming episode of Counting On, and sources say that Josiah’s mom Michelle Duggar will make an appearance to thank the wedding planner for making the day a big hit, but “she didn’t do anything for that wedding.”
A huge crowd of volunteers worked around the clock for the wedding – which tons of relatives and friends attended – but they had very little time to put things together since Josiah and Lauren changed their original wedding plans from New Year’s Eve to the end of June.
This move has sparked rumors of a shotgun wedding, with some believing that Lauren could be pregnant.
The couple is definitely glowing now that they have tied the knot. They recently posted a thank you video to fans, friends, and family for all of their support. At the end of the video, Josiah and Lauren shared a big kiss before apparently leaving on their honeymoon.
They filmed the video in a car, and it was the first time fans saw the couple completely alone. The strict Duggar family courtship and engagement rules do not allow courting couples to be anywhere without a chaperone, and they also do not allow any physical contact.
Fans will get their chance to get a closer look inside of Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson’s courtship, engagement, and wedding when season eight of Counting On premieres on Monday, July 30th.
