Former Counting On star Jill Duggar might be worried about her husband, Derick Dillard. The mom of two recently posted a pic on Instagram of herself reading the Bible and praying for her husband and two sons, but it’s the highlighted scripture that has fans talking.
“Praying for my hubby and boys this morning! #proverbs #wisdom,” Duggar captioned the pic of herself holding the Bible while her two sons, Israel and Samuel, played in the background.
Of course, Reddit users notice each and every little detail, and many couldn’t help but point out that Duggar was reading from a chapter titled “Warning Against Adultery,” and she had highlighted the entire section. Duggar was reading Proverbs 5, which talks about the lips of an adulterous woman dripping with honey and her speech being smoother than oil.
Some fans wondered if Duggar was worried about Dillard being around other women while he attends law school, while others defended her by saying that she was reading the fifth chapter of Proverbs on the fifth day of the month.
As OK! Magazine points out, Duggar’s marriage to Dillard has been the subject of a ton of scrutiny over the years. And these last twelve months have been an extremely trying time. In November 2017, TLC fired Dillard from Counting On after he went on a homophobic and transphobic Twitter rant, and bashed fellow TLC star, Jazz Jennings.
After his termination, Duggar opted to leave the show in an act of solidarity, making it the first time in a decade that she hadn’t starred in a reality show. Since then, fans have wondered how the couple pays their bills since neither of them has a job, and he recently started law school.
The couple is also raising two small children, and Duggar recently posted a pic of their youngest son Samuel to let fans know that he wasn’t feeling well. Duggar posted a photo of her holding her sleeping one-year-old, and she wrote in the caption that the “poor little fella” was cutting molars and sick.
The 27-year-old added that it makes her sad when her boys aren’t feeling well, but she was glad that he was getting a nap. Fans started giving advice, with one writing that Duggar should get Samuel an amber teething necklace, while another suggested essential oils for the pain.
There was also an unusual idea from one fan, who advised using frozen waffles for teething, and claimed that it was a favorite in their house when the kids were cutting teeth because they are cold, soothing, and soft.
New episodes of Counting On — without Jill Duggar or Derick Dillard — air Monday nights on TLC.
