On Saturday, the UFC fighter, Conor McGregor, shared the news that he and his longtime partner, Dee Devlin, officially got engaged. Today reported this weekend that Conor took to his social media account to write, “what a birthday, my future wife,” in front of his 36.7 million Instagram followers.
On the 9th of August, Devlin turns 33-year-old, so her engagement to the notorious MMA fighter likely came as a pleasant surprise. The picture features Connor and Dee looking very happy to be together. More importantly, it shows an emerald-cut diamond ring too.
Reportedly, the MMA fighter and Devlin have been dating since 2008. They already have two kids together, including Conor Jack Junior, 3, and a 1-year-old daughter named Croia. Conor and Devlin’s engagement comes just 8 weeks after he revealed he was going to retire.
Fans of the MMA star know he has already announced a retirement three times in the past, so it’s not clear if it’s just a thinly veiled threat or a marketing strategy.
On the 7th of June, Conor took to his Twitter account to say he was going to retire. He thanked his fans for supporting him, describing it as a “wild ride.” “Whatever you desire, it’s yours!” the fighter wrote.
Conor’s fans were very happy for him, writing a ton of sweet congratulatory comments on his page in honor of his next big step in life. Regarding the fighter’s retirement, McGregor has dropped a number of mixed messages.
For instance, earlier this year following the news he was going to retire, he accepted another fight challenge on his Twitter account, leading many to believe that he was going to come back. Moreover, rumor has it that Conor and Floyd might jump into the ring again for a rematch.
Floyd Mayweather Junior is just one fighter who obviously wasn’t thrilled at the news of his retirement. The boxer poked fun at Conor, insinuating he was interested in fighting him sometime in the future. Dana White, as well, says Floyd is definitely interested in fighting him again, but as of now, Conor is retired.
