Brother of Dick Van Dyke, Jerry Van Dyke is no longer alive. The man was a beloved comedian who made countless people laugh during his long career. Jerry is best known for starring in shows such as The Middle and Coach.
The funnyman’s passing on January 5 has left many fans heartbroken.
According to reports, the man’s loving wife, Shirley was by his side when he passed away at the family’s Arkansas ranch.
Jerry Van Dyke was 86 year old.
Shirley revealed that she as well as her now late husband were involved in a massive car accident about two years ago and that, ever since then, the man’s health started deteriorating.
Dick Van Dyke, who is the older brother of Jerry survives him at the age of 92.
Apparently, Dick visited his sibling and sister-in-law at the ranch during the past winter holidays.
The exact cause of death is yet to be determined.
Jerry is mostly known for his iconic role as Assistant Coach Luther Van Dam in the sitcom Coach.
The show, which ran from 1989 to 1997 earned Jerry no less than four Emmy nominations.
Before taking on the role, Jerry had pursued stand-up comedy and used to perform a lot at military bases around the entire world.
Thanks to a bit of help from his brother, Jerry made his acting debut on the iconic The Dick Van Dyke Show.
