During an episode of the podcast, Drinkin’ Bros, Clayne Crawford gave his side to the Lethal Weapon story, the set of which he was fired from earlier in the summer. Previously, Sean William Scott took his place on the series which features the Wayans brother, Damon.
According to Clayne, he places a lot of the blame on the Fox Network as well as his co-star; they didn’t get along at all. Reportedly, Crawford was guilty of “abusive” behavior while on set, including screaming at people and being an “emotional terrorist,” as one poster read outside the studio parking lot.
In addition to his bad reputation, Fox chose to ax the actor because of his inability to get along with Damon Wayans. First of all, the actor explained, he feels as though replacing him on the series was “not possible.”
According to Crawford, that would be like replacing the “Fresh Prince” off of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air – in reference to Will Smith, who was the star of the show.
His problems first began when Variety published tapes where Crawford and Damon were arguing over an injury Damon had suffered while on the set of an episode Clayne directed.

Moreover, another tape features the actor screaming at a swimming pool. Crawford said he did not scream at children; it was a “blatant f*cking lie.”
Additionally, Crawford claims the studio used the existence of the tapes as a way of blackmailing him ever since the second season. If the ex-Lethal Weapon star were to complain about Damon’s behavior, then they would threaten to release them.
Clayne said, “I can’t apologize to this guy,” speaking of Mr. Damon Wayans. According to him, it would all serve his ego, and he wouldn’t want to do that. Regardless of where the blame lies, one can hope that the two eventually reconcile.
