Outback Steakhouse waitress Mikayla Scott got one hell of a surprise when she saw who was at one of her tables. The 21-year-old works in an Ohio location of the chain establishment and said she was so nervous to serve the model, her musician hubby John Legend, and their friends.
Apparently, the duo was in the area because Legend is from Springfield, Ohio and along with visiting family, they were also there to check out some of the local high school football games. Teigen has been open about her love for the chain restaurant in the past. She’s especially fond of their bloomin onion.
The Cravings cookbook author even went so far as to tweet about the best ways to recreate the appetizer herself back in March. The official Outback account responded to her and said they’d be happy to tell her the secret and special trick, to which she responded almost gleefully, imploring them to send an Outback chef to her home.
Scott says she was so shocked to see the $1000 tip that she had to look at it again and immediately thought: “Oh my God. Praise the Lord.”
This isn’t the first time that Teigen has done something incredibly thoughtful and helpful to those she encounters. In April, she paid off the remaining balance of a woman’s beauty school tuition, which amounted to a little over $5,500.
The model and TV personality even wrote a sweet message to the young woman encouraging her to keep following her dreams.
It’s nice to know that a person with so much notoriety and success can positively impact the lives of others because they have the ability and resources to. These two examples are something that was brought to the presses attention by the recipients themselves.
This makes the act even better because it isn’t as though Teigen has done these things to get some type of praise for her kindness and generosity.
With the holidays ahead, we may be hearing more stories of people in a position to give a sum of money to another as a token of appreciation and goodwill.
