Chris Martin Calms Down Panicked Concertgoers After Mass Shooting Reports At Global Citizen Festival - See The Video!
The people in attendance at the Global Citizen Festival were freaked out after some reports of gunfire. Fortunately, it turned out to be a misunderstanding, and Chris Martin helped calm down everyone there.
What actually happened was that a barrier fence fell at the show and because it made such a loud noise, the concertgoers began to panic, thinking they were in danger.
That is when the Coldplay member along with NYPD Assistant Chief Kathleen O'Reilly took the stage and addressed the crowd, making sure they knew there was no firearm attack.
In a clip posted on social media by MSNBC, the man can be heard saying: ‘There's no need to push people out of the way. What happened was that a barrier fell down. Of course it caused people to be a little bit frightened. But nobody is trying to hurt anybody and you're all safe. I just want to tell you that. As far as I know, when you guys are ready, we can watch Janet Jackson.’
Sure enough, Jackson performed soon after, joining the list of names, including John Legend, Cardi B, Shawn Mendes, and The Weeknd, who entertained the crowd.
At the same time, Martin's former wife Gwyneth Paltrow was getting married at her home in the Hamptons.
Despite how close the exes are, the Coldplay frontman was not at the ceremony.
Steven Spielberg, Jerry Seinfeld, Cameron Diaz and husband Benji Madden, as well as Robert Downey Jr., were, however.
A couple of days ago, Paltrow admitted during an episode of her goop Podcast that she was ‘disappointed’ when her decade-long marriage with Martin crumbled.
‘I think Chris and I are very like-minded. We really were disappointed that our marriage wasn’t going to work, and we weren’t going to have the thing where you’re married to the parent of your children for the rest of your lives,’ she shared with her fans.
Still, the exes have a great co-parenting relationship and have remained good friends.
