This is amazing! After no less than three decades, Cheryl Burke finally met her long lost sister!
Today, the Dancing with the Stars celeb took to social media to share with her followers that she was able to get in contact with a woman who has the same father as her.
Burke posted a pic of the two of them, captioning it: ‘With my father’s passing came much darkness but there was also a lot of light. I found my sister who I’d never known. We recently met for the very 1st time, and it was such a surreal experience to walk into the room to meet and then walk out feeling like we had known each other forever.’
With my father's passing came a lot of darkness but there was also a lot of light – I found my sister who I had never known. We recently met for the first time and it was such a surreal experience to walk into a room to meet and walk out feeling like we had known each other forever. In her I see the same drive and passion that our dad had and there’s clearly a major family resemblance. It may have taken 30 years to find each other, but I am so excited to have another sister for life ?
As fans probably know, the woman announced her dad’s passing back in March.
At the time, she posted an emotional tribute to him that read: ‘Dad, if I had just one more chance to have you here with me today, I’d do things differently. Every day I’d tell you how much I love you. I miss you so much already.’
Cheryl went on to say about her half-sister that ‘In her, I see the same drive and passion our dad had, and there is clearly a major family resemblance. It may have taken thirty years to find each other, but I am so excited to have another sister for life.’
But that’s not all! She also posted a video of them interacting and a pic of her next to the sibling as children.
‘Oh my God, I’m meeting my sister for the first time! Same dad, different mom,’ she gushed.
The sister, whose name is Ina, also posted about the reunion saying: ‘Sister, Sister. We only met yesterday, but it really felt like we’ve known each other for a very long time. Cannot believe it has taken 30 years to finally meet my other half.’
