Nicki Minaj demanded to be removed from Tory Lanez’s new Memories Don’t Die album. It is said that this album initially featured a verse from Nicki, but after a while, it was removed from the project after the Young Money rapper and Tory had a nasty text message conversation.
Tory released his studio project on March 2 with a few collabs featured on it. The collaborations included celebrities such as Wiz Khalifa, 50 Cent, Future, and Fabolous.
There was one verse that was missing, and this is Nicki’s verse from the politicly-charged record named Shooters.
It seems that she was initially on the song but after that, it disappeared.
This came right after a text message was taken the wrong way.
According to Tory who claims is a huge fan of Nicki things were just misunderstood.
He said that he did not mean to offend her in any way, but unfortunately this was how the whole situation came out.
‘I was texting her so that it may have come off differently,’ he explained. ‘She probably read it differently than I said it.’
Tory added that this isn’t the first time he’s gotten himself into a text message mix up.
‘Maybe it came off a little bit—I don’t know—arrogant,’ he continued.
‘I kind of said something that I shouldn’t have said about her verse. She was just like, ‘Well, n**ga it’s just not that serious. Take my verse off the thing.’
Tory concluded saying that ‘I will always work with Nicki. I love everything about Nicki. Even to this day, no matter if n**gas, or the fans, or people try to switch up—I’ll never take away what she’s done for the female culture in hip-hop. Ever.’
So, Nicki’s fans can rest assured that there’s no bad blood between these two.
