After she suffered a miscarriage, Catelynn Lowell got unexpectedly pregnant despite not trying anymore, and she couldn’t be happier! However, it’s a well-known fact that a lot of women go through postpartum depression after giving birth and it seems like the Teen Mom star might be at an even higher risk due to the fact that she’s struggled with mental health problems before.
After giving birth to Novalee, Lowell developed a severe postpartum depression that continued to get worse for years to the point that she started to have suicidal thoughts before she went to rehab.
One insider tells HollywoodLife that this time around, Catelynn is ready to deal with all the challenges that come with welcoming another bundle of joy.
‘Catelynn is terrified of going through postpartum again, it is a very real fear. But instead of worrying, she is being super proactive, and that is helping her cope with all the fear. She has got a therapist that she is working with and a plan in place for when she has her baby,’ the source dished.
They added that ‘She’s also been keeping more active during this pregnancy because exercise can help reduce the risk.’
Apparently, the star is also very open to asking the people in her life for help instead of bottling everything inside – as she should!
‘Although nothing could make postpartum depression easy, Catelynn’s taking a lot of solace in the fact that it is something she ha faced before so at least she knows what the signs are. It is still scary and something she is praying she won’t have to face this time around.’
