The famous actress was in attendance at the American Film Institute's 46th Life Achievement Award Gala. The event honored George Clooney, and it seems like Cate Blanchett managed to steal the spotlight with her unexpected but definitely impressive style on the red carpet.

The Ocean 8’s actress rocked a faux tattoo-sleeve created by Parisian couture designer Yacine Aouadi, and she looked simply stunning but also super bad*ss for the cameras.

The fake tattoo was part of her black dress – an A-line midi with a plunging neckline and embroidered along the silhouette.

The neckline was covered in the ‘tattooed’ tulle which continued all the way to her sleeves.

The actress accessorized the whole ensemble with a pair of pointed-toe pumps and some asymmetric drop earrings.

Finally, her look was made complete by her smoky eyes and slightly wavy hair.

Even though for many, this might have been surprising, the Hollywood star has actually rocked the same fierce and edgy dress before.

It was back in 2015 and she was at the premiere of Carol in New York City.

Blanchett has actually made a habit of recycling her past looks lately, and we totally love it!

She was at the event to show some support to fellow actor George Clooney.

The two have collaborated on The Good German as well as The Monuments Men.

Furthermore, Blanchett is now part of the cast for the newest Ocean 8's franchise movie, the original of which Clooney starred as Danny Ocean.

On the red carpet, the honored actor told ET about his twin babies and family life.

‘Yesterday was their birthday. They are one year. They were kinda on Europe time, so they were sleeping throughout most of the day. We had cake, [we were] waiting, and we wake them up and show it to them, and then they go back to sleep,’ Clooney laughed.
