In the latest issue of GQ Magazine, the May edition, Cardi B sat down with reporters and dished on plastic surgery, thug-life, and Beyoncé. The entertainment world’s favorite rapper not only admitted to receiving butt injections when she was 21-years-old but also claimed she used to be in a gang back in the day.
As for her surgical operation, Cardi claimed it was partially inspired by another woman whom with her boyfriend cheated. Cardi decided to up the ante by getting surgery.
But that wasn’t the only reason, the “No Limit” performer noticed women with big bottoms made more money at the club. As for her supposed past as a thug-gangster, Cardi claimed she used to hang out with a lot of “bloods.”
Men in the gang told her she “had it poppin’,” and should join the group, so she did. However, she subsequently left after realizing it would be more fun and lucrative to work as an exotic dancer.
The “Bodak Yellow” artist said when she was young; she didn’t care about gangs, she just wanted to get paid. It’s risky business, and pointless in many ways, especially considering they rarely make money and often kill each other for status.
Cardi doesn’t like to talk about that part of her life often to avoid glamorizing gang-culture. The rapper admitted she didn’t want to inspire young women to join gangs.
After making it to the top of the charts, Cardi is in the public’s eye more than ever, and some claim she is only talking about her past in a gang to “toughen” her image, something which she vehemently denies, and for a good reason.
And while it would seem like Cardi is scared of nothing, some things do frighten her including meeting her idols like Beyonce.
Cardi said she wasn’t even happy about meeting the “Lemonade” singer, mostly just nervous. In her own words, the “Motorsport” rapper claimed she was like, “UHHN!” when encountering her for the first time.
