The 21-year-old is on the cover of Rolling Stone’s latest issue. Camila Cabello opened up about her friendship with fellow singer Taylor Swift.
Camila revealed how she and Taylor first met in the pages of the publication as well as other details about their close relationship.
Apparently, it was their mutual friend Hailee Steinfeld who introduced them.
Later on, Taylor reached out to Camila during a breakup, and now they are even working together.
As fans probably already know, the Havana singer is one of Taylor’s Reputation tour opening acts.
‘She sent me a breakup playlist and said, ‘Come over. Let’s talk about it.’ I think the Haim girls were there. It was, like, a girls-night thing,’ Cabello recalled.
Not only that but Swift was also there for her in December of 2016 when she decided to leave Fifth Harmony, and she and the members were not on great terms.
Taylor advised her to ‘write’ down her emotions and create music out of them.
‘There were so many songs that did not make my album that were just me getting it out,’ Camila said about her debut album.
‘It was as painful as a breakup, a five-year breakup. I do not think there was ever a point where I was like, ‘I want to leave because I am the breakout star.’ We were just young. If we were in the same situation now, it’d probably be fine for everyone to make their own music while being in the group, because I think everyone understands now that you cannot limit people. That is why people break free,’ Camila dished about her departure from the girl group.
That being said, there were also rumors that it was Taylor who influenced her to leave but back in March, Camila denied them.
