Camila Cabello’s fans have been sending all kinds of negative messages to her former boyfriend, Matthew Hussey in the aftermath of their split but that is the last thing the singer wants. Camila took to social media to asks her followers to stop being so mean towards the man she dated for a year.

Breakups are hard to begin with but can you imagine if they happened publicly and the whole world could react and comment on them? Well, Camila and other celebs totally can!

The outside involvement in her breakup is even more painful since they’d managed to keep their romance away from the spotlight.

But now, they are getting more attention than ever, especially since the split happened after Camila released her collab song with Shawn Mendes, the two artists packing a lot of PDA in the clip.

Many fans started speculating that Shawn was who caused the two to put an end to their relationship, suggesting that there may be something more than just friendship between the artists.

Earlier today, Camila took to social media to beg her fans to leave her ex alone for her sake, if not for his.

‘To my fans, if you truly love me, please don't send the people I love and care about hateful things. You doing that hurts me, and it is so unnecessary, heavy and damaging to add even more pain to pain. There is a real person behind your tweets. You spamming them with hateful and insensitive things is not funny, is causing all of us pain, and does not reflect the values I talk about,’ she wrote on IG Stories.

She went on to ask people to ‘Please be kind and sensitive and respectful. I know that you love me, but anyone that is doing that is not even respecting the sacred things in my life. The people who I love and care about is one of them. I'd really appreciate if you'd delete any mean comments you have sent, and please be kind by leaving it alone.’
