Rapper and producer from the West Coast, Daz Dillinger, found himself arrested by authorities on drug charges on Wednesday. The Cobb County Police Department in Atlanta, Georgia, confirmed the news.
Daz, whose real name is Delmar Drew Arnaud, will go to court on 13 felony charges involving marijuana. TMZ reported the news shortly after his arrest. A spokesperson speaking on behalf of the county police department, Sarah O’Hara, said she didn’t know how the police obtained a warrant to search Mr. Arnaud’s home.
Daz, 45, is one part of the hip-hop group, Tha Dogg Pound, along with legendary rapper, Kurupt. Previously, they were signed to Death Row Records, created by the hip-hop mogul, Suge Knight, who’s currently serving a prison sentence for a hit-and-run accident.
During a chat with the website, HipHopDX, Daz said he played a role in producing Dr. Dre’s album, The Chronic, as well as Snoop Dogg’s breakout hit, Doggystyle.
Both of those albums are considered as some of the best West Coast rap records ever created. Regarding his arrest, Daz made a fatal mistake when he uploaded a photo of himself on Twitter fourteen hours before his arrest with the caption, “Wake and Bake,” essentially, incriminating himself.
While spokesperson Sarah O’Hara claimed she was unsure of how the warrant was obtained, later on, the police claimed to have discovered multiple cigarillo packets with marijuana inside them. In total, they found 117 grams after searching his home.
As fans of Daz know, he loves to insult Kanye West as well as his relationship with Kim Kardashian, mostly because of his strange friendship with the president, Donald Trump.
In the past, Daz threatened both of them with Crip gang violence. The Yeezy creator met up with Donald Trump one evening for photos, sparking backlash from the African-American community, as well as the general public.
