Some may not feel that Caitlyn Jenner’s experience as a woman who has undergone gender reassignment surgery speaks to the experiences other trans women have faced, but there’s no question she is a spokesperson. As Caitlyn Jenner continues to share her personal experiences with the public, she has become one of the most vocal activists for the trans community simply based on her audience reach.
Though her show I Am Cait was canceled after two seasons, she continues to speak out about her experiences through social media networks. Just recently, Caitlyn shared how it felt to attend her first bridal shower as a woman compared to attending a bachelor’s party as a man.
Caitlyn Jenner is the parent of six children and her son Brody Jenner is engaged to Kaitlyn Carter. Caitlyn shared photos from her soon-to-be daughter-in-law’s bridal shower. In one of the snaps, Caitlyn can be seen posing with Kaitlyn with their arms around each other. The pair stood in front of a floral covered backdrop.
Of the experience, Caitlyn shared that she preferred the bridal shower to bachelor parties.
The bridal shower was held in Arcadia, California on what was the National Trans Day of Visibility.
Caitlyn has been in the spotlight recently as she revealed she had skin cancer on her nose and underwent surgery to have it removed. She shared photos of the aftermath on Instagram and encouraged people to wear sunscreen.
Another fact that has been drawing interest is that when Kaitlyn and Brody marry, she and Caitlyn will have the same name only spelled differently. There are currently no reports indicating Kaitlyn plans on keeping her maiden last name. It will be Caitlyn Jenner and Kaitlyn Jenner after the marriage.
Caitlyn has also been thrust into the spotlight after Kim Kardashian shared a throwback photo of pre-surgery Caitlyn. No one knows the reason why Kim chose to share a photo of Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner in a romantic snap, but she did and she shared it on Instagram.
Fans have wondered if the photo was a way of saying she remembers the good times she had when Bruce Jenner was her stepfather, or if she was throwing him shade.
What do you think about Caitlyn Jenner’s willingness to share her experiences as a woman?
