Busy Philipps got candid about a traumatic experience that she went through in her early teenage years. According to the woman, when she was no older than 14 years old, she was a victim of sexual assault.
This is something she kept hidden for the longest time both from the public and her loved ones!
But now, it looks like the case of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, and Christine Blasey Ford has inspired Philipps to open up about her own terrifying experience.
Therefore, Busy took to her Instagram account this morning to post a pic of herself when she was 14 years old.
In the caption, she told her story.
‘#TBT This is me at 14 years old. The age when I was raped. It has taken me 25 years to say those words. I wrote about it in my book. I finally told my parents and sister about it four months ago. Today’s the day we are silent no more. All of us,’ she started.
‘I’m scared to post this. I cannot imagine what Dr. Ford is feeling right now,’ Philipps went on to tell her followers.
Not too long after the post went live, her fans started to shower the star with a lot of love and positivity, praising Busy for her bravery.
In the comments, Jenna Dewan also reacted, writing: ‘Aww my love. Your honesty is healing. Sending you so much love.’
Jenna Fisher then went on to write: ‘I love you. I believe you. I hear you. I see you. You are safe now. #MeToo.’
Other well-known names such as Lisa Rinna, Aidy Bryant, Angela Kinsey, January Jones, Leslie Bibb, Ali Larter and many more left encouraging messages.
