Brett Ratner’s Supposed Sexual Assault Victim Melanie Kohler Abandons Her Lawsuit

Brett Ratner, one of the key Hollywood figures to go down in the face of the #MeToo movement, just ended a court battle with one of his accusers, Melanie Kohler. This comes after Koehler told her story nearly a year ago when the #MeToo allegations first began.
According to a report from Deadline, both parties agreed to end their legal battle and have a “mutual desire to move on” with their lives.
Last fall, Kohler accused Ratner of misconduct in the midst of a Los Angeles Times report published which featured a litany of accusations from six different women.
Six women accused Ratner of harassment in an extensive article. Some of the most prominent to levy allegations toward the Rush Hour director includes Olivia Munn. Munn claims that Ratner masturbated in front of her one day when she went to his trailer to bring him food.
Moreover, Natasha Henstridge also accused him of preventing her from leaving his place in New York City, where he forced her to perform oral sex on him.
Shortly before the Los Angeles Time published their article, Kohler accused Ratner of raping her after at an event in a nightclub one evening between 2004 and 2005.
After Koehler sent out her Facebook post, Ratner sued her for libel. Deadline revealed that Ratner is dropping the suit that he filed in Hawaii. Robert Kaplan, Kohler’s attorney, said to Deadline that she is pleased Mr. Ratner decided to drop the case.
Brett Ratner’s lawyer, Martin Singer, said in a statement as well that Kohler agreed that she has fuzzy memories about what happened over a decade ago, so they both decided to end the suit.
Deadline explained that neither party agreed to pay money at all, and neither party paid for either side’s attorney fees. Ratner was also implicated in a case involving Russell Simmons. A model, 19 at the time, claims Russell and Brett raped her in the early 1990’s.
