The all-star cast of HBO’s Westworld just got a little better. Producers just announced that Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul is joining the cast for Season 3 and will be playing a regular character moving forward.
Paul is the second cast member of Breaking Bad to join the hit show. Last season, Giancarlo Esposito had a great cameo on the series, though it is not clear if his character will reappear down the road.
Producers have not revealed what character Paul will be playing, though the world will likely look completely different after the events in Season 2.
The season 2 finale of ‘Westworld’ was a whiplash-inducing, extra-long episode that completely rebooted the series for a whole new narrative in Season 3. And we’ve got the perfect pre-Emmys refresher https://t.co/2DK7sY1sEF

At the end of Season 2, a few of the characters — like Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) and Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) — got out of the park and escaped into the real world. Creators Jonathan Nolan and Lis Joy have not said much about the new storyline for Season 3, but they did say that it will be interesting seeing how the androids behave and interact with people in the real world.
HBO has not announced when Season 3 of Westworld will premiere. The series waited a couple of years before Season 2 premiered, so it’s a safe bet that we won’t have anything new until 2020. Producers also have to consider that the final season of Game of Thrones will kick off in 2019, so the studio might want to put some distance between the shows.

According to Thrillist, Westworld star Ed Harris also revealed that filming for the new season will not start until the summer of 2019, so it is going to be a while before we get anything new.
As far as Aaron Paul is concerned, he has worked on a number of different projects since the end of Breaking Bad. The actor is currently working on Apple’s new show, Are You Sleeping, and was heavily involved with Hulu’s The Path.
