Brad Pitt Will Play A Major Role At His Friend Chris Cornell's Tribute Show
Brad Pitt will make an appearance at the upcoming Chris Cornell tribute show, titled “I Am The Highway.” The actor will take the stage alongside a host of celebrities and is part of the hosting committee for the event. Pitt and Cornell were longtime friends before his passing in the spring of 2017.
The event is scheduled to take place on January 16 and will feature performances from Cornell’s bands, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, and Soundgarden. Metallica, Ryan Adams, and the Foo Fighters will also perform tributes. Jimmy Kimmel will host the concert at the Forum in Los Angeles.
Apart from Pitt, other celebrities on the committee include Tom Hanks, Josh and Kathryn Brolin, Vicky Cornell, Courteney Cox, David Spade, Sam and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Tom Morello.
According to Alternative Nation , proceeds from the event will go towards the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation and the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation. The event coincides with Cornell’s last album, which is scheduled for release this week. The album features a previously unreleased track, titled “When Bad Does Good.”
“We are honored to have all these amazing artists and friends come together to pay tribute to and show their love and appreciation for Chris, his music and the mark he’s left on the world,” Vicki Cornell shared in a statement.
While Pitt is getting ready to honor his late friend, he is also gearing up for his upcoming custody trial with Angelina Jolie. The two are set to battle it out in court on Dec. 4 and will hopefully reach an agreement on the custody of their six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox.
Jolie is currently fighting for primary custody of the children while Pitt is looking to split custody . It has been over two years since Jolie filed for divorce and Pitt definitely has his work cut out if he wants to win.
Angelina Jolie, meanwhile, was recently spotted with Maddox in South Korea touring different universities. The actress is reportedly planning her children’s’ futures without Brad Pitt’s consent, which is why he’s willing to battle it out in court.
