After it was revealed that Jennifer Aniston and husband Justin Theroux had decided to end their 7-year romance, the world was eager to find out how did Brad Pitt feel about the shocking news.
Well, luckily, a source has spoken to Hollywood Life and revealed that Pitt is heartbroken by the split. Pitt himself is embroiled in a lengthy and thorny divorce process with estranged wife, Angelina Jolie.
Ironically, People Magazine and Life and Style previously reported that Aniston was the one helping Pitt move on with his life after Jolie blindsided him with divorce papers in late 2016.
The insider, who talked to the media outlet, had this to say about the situation: “Brad knows it is difficult for anyone when they go through a separation, but he is not happy that his name will be linked with hers again in all the coverage of Jen’s separation.”
A person familiar with the drama went on to say that while Pitt will be present for Aniston the way she was for him, he has no plans to get back with her.
The source shared: “He would love to be far removed from it, but he knows he will be in the center of the tornado and he will do his best to avoid it and not address it. But he also knows that will be impossible. He just wants to get back to a normal for his life, and he knows that with the separation on everyone’s mind and the connection people are making with him that it will not happen anytime soon.”
The insider added: “This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are still two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”
Meanwhile, Jolie is still hoping for a reconciliation, via Life and Style: “She has been in tears over losing him. She has told friends, ‘I made the mistake of a lifetime. Brad feels too much damage has been done and she has hurt and tormented him for too long to consider taking her back. He does not trust her anymore.”
Jolie and Pitt share six children Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 9.
